After More Than 20 Years, We’re Launching Tennis.ie

After more than 20 years serving sports enthusiasts in Dun Laoghaire, we are proud to launch Tennis.ie – a specialist destination dedicated to Tennis, Padel and Pickleball. Born from our passion for racquet sports and the growing demand for expert advice, specialist equipment and exceptional customer service, Tennis.ie represents the next chapter in our journey.

Since opening Grandstand Sports in 2004, we have built a reputation for quality products, knowledgeable service and strong community connections. Following the success of our dedicated tennis shop in 2024, Tennis.ie allows us to focus entirely on supporting the rapidly growing communities of Tennis, Padel and Pickleball players across Ireland.

While Tennis.ie is a new name, it remains a family-run business built on the same values, independence and commitment to customer care that our customers have trusted for over two decades.

After More Than 20 Years, We’re Launching Tennis.ie

After more than 20 years serving sports enthusiasts in Dun Laoghaire and beyond, we are excited to announce the launch of Tennis.ie - a new specialist business dedicated to Tennis, Padel and Pickleball.

This new venture has grown naturally from our passion for racquet sports and from the increasing demand we have seen for specialist products, expert advice and dedicated customer service. Tennis continues to thrive in our local area, while Padel and Pickleball have experienced remarkable growth in recent years. As these sports continue to attract new players, we felt the time was right to create a dedicated destination focused entirely on supporting these communities.

Our story began in December 2004 when we opened Grandstand Sports in Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre. From the beginning, our goal was simple: to offer quality sporting goods, honest advice and friendly service. As the business grew, we moved to our current location on Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, allowing us to expand both our product range and the level of service we could offer our customers.

Over the years, we identified a growing demand for specialist Tennis and Hockey equipment. While we continued to stock a wide range of sporting goods, we increasingly focused on these sports, building a reputation for expertise and offering products that differed from those typically found in larger chain stores. Our range became centred on specialist performance brands chosen for serious players and enthusiasts rather than general sports-fashion labels.

In 2024, we took a significant step forward by expanding our Patrick Street premises and opening a dedicated tennis shop. The response from customers was overwhelmingly positive and confirmed what we had already begun to see – a strong and growing appetite for specialist racquet sports retail.

The launch of Tennis.ie is the next step in that journey.

Although Tennis.ie is a new business, it remains very much a family business. The same owners, the same values and the same commitment to customer service continue at the heart of everything we do. We remain fully independent and committed to providing quality products, impartial advice and competitive prices to players of all ages and abilities.

Alongside our sporting goods business, we also introduced a medals, trophies and engraving service in 2013. This area continues to grow each year and has allowed us to work closely with schools, clubs and organisations throughout the community, often delivering projects within demanding timeframes.

Today, with a team of up to ten part-time staff, we continue to pride ourselves on providing the friendly, knowledgeable and personal service that our customers have come to expect over the past two decades.

As we begin this exciting new chapter, we would like to thank all of our customers for their loyalty and support. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

We look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to Tennis.ie and helping the growing communities of Tennis, Padel and Pickleball players across Ireland enjoy the sports we love.
